ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, Sept. 7 (Reuters)—An official Ethiopian weekly newspaper today accused Emperor Haile Selassie and his family of having hoarded millions of dollars in Swiss banks. It said the money had been illegally acquired by exploiting the Ethiopian people.
The charge was in a strongly‐worded editorial in the Amharic‐language weekly Ethiopia Today, which is published by the Ministry of Information. It referred to the 82‐year‐old Emperor as “negusu,” a derogatory term for king.
